Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion may publish special issues or thematic collections addressing focused areas of clinical medicine, therapeutics or related research. Special issues are subject to the same fundamental standards of research integrity, editorial independence and peer review as regular journal content.
A proposed special issue should have a clearly defined scholarly theme, relevance to the journal scope and sufficient academic justification. Approval of a topic does not imply advance acceptance of individual manuscripts.
Guest editors should have appropriate expertise in the subject area and disclose relevant competing interests. Their responsibilities may include helping define the scope, identifying appropriate reviewers and making recommendations within the journal's editorial framework.
Research manuscripts submitted to a special issue undergo the journal's established double-anonymous peer-review process involving a minimum of two independent reviewers.
Guest editors must not accept manuscripts solely because they fit the theme of a special issue. Scientific quality, research ethics, methodological soundness and relevance remain essential.
A submission authored by a guest editor, close collaborator or another person presenting a significant conflict must be handled independently by another editor.
Financial or organisational support for a special issue must not give a sponsor control over peer review or acceptance decisions. Relevant sponsorship should be disclosed where appropriate.
The journal retains responsibility for the integrity of special-issue content and may reject, correct or retract material in accordance with its normal editorial policies.
