Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion recognises that preservation of scholarly literature is an important responsibility of digital publishing. The journal seeks to maintain stable access to published articles and associated metadata over time.
The purpose of digital preservation is to reduce the risk that scholarly content becomes unavailable because of technical failure, platform migration, organisational change or other disruption.
Published issues and articles are maintained within the journal's electronic publishing platform. Bibliographic metadata and publication files should be retained as part of the journal's permanent scholarly record.
Corrections and retractions should normally preserve the original article record together with an appropriate notice rather than silently deleting published scholarship.
When journal infrastructure is migrated or substantially upgraded, reasonable measures should be taken to preserve article files, metadata, issue relationships, identifiers and historical publication information.
Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion may participate in recognised digital-preservation or repository services as these arrangements are formally implemented. The journal will identify specific preservation services publicly only when active participation has been established.
Because articles are published under CC BY 4.0, lawful repository copies may provide an additional distributed record of published scholarship.
