Corrections and Retractions

Journal of Current Medical Research  and Opinion is committed to maintaining an accurate and trustworthy scholarly record. Published articles may therefore be corrected, clarified, marked with an expression of concern or retracted when warranted by the evidence.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error affects the accuracy, interpretation or attribution of an article but does not invalidate its principal findings. Corrections should identify the affected article and explain the material change.

Author Corrections

Authors who identify a significant error after publication should notify the journal promptly and cooperate in determining the appropriate correction.

Expressions of Concern

An expression of concern may be considered when serious questions have arisen about a published article but the available evidence is incomplete, disputed or subject to an ongoing investigation.

Retractions

Retraction may be appropriate when findings are unreliable because of major error, fabrication or falsification; substantial plagiarism or redundant publication is established; research was conducted or reported unethically; peer review was manipulated; or another serious problem makes continued reliance on the article inappropriate.

Retraction Notice

A retraction notice should identify the affected article and state the reason for retraction as clearly as circumstances permit. The original scholarly record should ordinarily remain identifiable as retracted rather than simply disappearing from the journal archive.

Withdrawal Before Publication

Withdrawal of an accepted but unpublished manuscript may be permitted when justified. Withdrawal should not be used to conceal ethical concerns or duplicate submission.

Post-Publication Updates

Minor typographical errors that do not affect meaning may not require a formal correction. Material changes to scientific content should be documented transparently.
