Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion recognises that preprints can support rapid scholarly communication while formal peer review remains necessary for journal publication.
Posting a manuscript on a legitimate non-commercial or scholarly preprint server does not, by itself, constitute formal journal publication and does not automatically make the work ineligible for consideration by Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion.
Authors should inform the journal when a submitted manuscript has previously been posted as a preprint and provide the relevant persistent identifier or link where available.
A preprint has not necessarily undergone the journal's peer-review process. Acceptance by Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion therefore depends on normal editorial assessment and, where applicable, double-anonymous review by a minimum of two independent reviewers.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that the journal submission accurately reflects the research and for responding to editorial or peer-review requirements. The peer-reviewed version may differ materially from the preprint.
Following publication, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record where the hosting service permits so that readers can locate and cite the final peer-reviewed article.
Authors discussing preprint findings publicly should avoid presenting unreviewed findings as though they have already undergone formal journal peer review.
