Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion recognises that Article Processing Charges may create barriers for authors who have limited access to research funding. The journal therefore permits requests for full or partial APC waivers in appropriate circumstances.
Waiver requests may be considered when the corresponding author demonstrates genuine financial need, lack of institutional or grant support, or other circumstances that make payment of the standard APC impracticable.
Priority may be given to authors from resource-constrained research environments and to cases in which no dedicated publication funding is available.
The corresponding author should contact the journal office with a brief explanation of the circumstances supporting the request. The journal may request reasonable information necessary to evaluate eligibility.
Authors are encouraged to request a waiver during submission or before an APC invoice is issued. A waiver request should not be included in the scientific manuscript sent to reviewers.
Waiver requests and payment status are administratively separate from scientific assessment. A request for a waiver must not affect reviewer selection, peer-review reports or the acceptance or rejection decision.
Waivers are considered individually and may be full or partial. Approval depends on the circumstances of the request and the journal resources available at the time. A waiver decision does not imply a scientific publication decision.
