Authorship provides scholarly credit and also carries responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of published work.
Authors should have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work, participated in drafting or critical intellectual revision, approved the version submitted for publication and agreed to be accountable for their contribution and the integrity of the work.
Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion encourages a transparent author-contribution statement identifying the roles performed by individual contributors, such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, analysis, supervision, writing and project administration.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and should ensure that all authors approve the submission, author order, declarations and final manuscript.
Requests to add, remove or reorder authors after submission must have a legitimate explanation. The journal may require written agreement from all affected authors. Authorship changes after acceptance or publication receive additional scrutiny.
Individuals must not be listed as authors merely because of seniority, funding, supervision or professional position. Individuals who made substantial contributions must not be deliberately omitted.
Contributors who do not meet authorship requirements may be acknowledged with their permission. Sources of technical, editorial or other assistance should be transparently identified where appropriate.
Artificial intelligence systems cannot be authors because they cannot assume responsibility, approve publication or respond to questions concerning research integrity.
