Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion supports transparent registration and reporting of clinical trials to reduce selective reporting and improve the reliability of the clinical evidence base.
Prospective clinical trials should be registered in an appropriate publicly accessible recognised clinical-trial registry before enrolment of the first participant whenever prospective registration is required under accepted biomedical publication standards.
The registry name, registration number and registration date should be provided in the manuscript. Authors should ensure that registered outcomes and the submitted report are consistent or transparently explain justified changes.
Randomized controlled trials should be reported using appropriate recognised reporting standards, including CONSORT where applicable.
Editors may request access to trial protocols, statistical analysis plans, ethics documentation or other information necessary to assess reporting integrity.
Undisclosed changes to prespecified primary or secondary outcomes may raise concerns about selective reporting. Legitimate protocol changes should be clearly identified and explained.
Trial registration does not replace ethics approval or informed consent. Both must be addressed independently where applicable.
