Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion supports transparency and reproducibility in clinical and therapeutic research. Authors should provide sufficient information to permit appropriate evaluation of the evidence supporting their conclusions.
Research articles should include a data availability statement explaining whether and where the data supporting the findings can be accessed.
When ethically and legally appropriate, authors are encouraged to deposit research data in a recognised institutional, disciplinary or general-purpose repository and provide a persistent identifier or access information.
Data should not be publicly disclosed when doing so would violate participant consent, privacy, confidentiality, legal requirements, contractual restrictions or legitimate ethical obligations. When access is restricted, the reason should be stated.
Where public deposition is not appropriate but controlled sharing is possible, authors may explain the conditions under which qualified researchers can request access.
Protocols, statistical code, questionnaires, reporting checklists or other supporting materials may be supplied when they materially improve transparency and reproducibility.
Authors are expected to preserve underlying research records in accordance with applicable institutional, funder and legal requirements. Editors may request relevant underlying data when necessary to investigate scientific or integrity concerns.
Data sharing must protect patient confidentiality. De-identification should be appropriate to the nature of the data and the possibility of re-identification.
